Wind Up My Skirt

“I’m selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I’m out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.” ~ Marilyn Monroe

I’m certain this quote resonates within us all at times.  I, for one, have felt a little crank-a-licious and most assuredly at my worst these past few days.  While I’m no “Candle In The Wind” and a posthumous swan song will never be written for me, my flame is sputtering madly and my vitality is impalpable.  I searched for a good quote yesterday to describe my feelings of ineptness and self-pity and I tumbled upon this little gem when fiddling around with my new tumblr account.  Marilyn Monroe is not one’s usual go-to girl for sage sayings and I am completely delighted to have found such a suitable quote to tell the world at large to go stuff a duck if they can’t take me as I am.

I am now feeling quite sassy and  would love to find an air shaft to stand on but I have to go to bed so I can sing in the coal mine tonight with perfect pitch.  I hope the staff won’t mind the loud music blaring from the basement tonight as I get down with The Black Crows.

” crank-a-licious” I love that, but still, everyone has their ups and downs and whoever loves you will understand that so you go ahead and be “crank-a-licious” anytime…

Aw, you are so sweet, my dear! I hate being cranky. But when everyone is pissing in my mess kit it’s hard to be upbeat. The negative energy of my co-workers is overwhelming. I need a new job! Too old to strip so maybe I can do phone sex? Heh heh!

“Girls Just Want to Have Fun” cuz I refuse to grow up. Or maybe “Head Like a Hole” because god money keeps me stuck rowing on this ship of fools. Got a miilionare who needs a new dame clinging to his side? It would have to be part-time, my hub might not like be being away for weeks at a time. :)

Shucks, pardner….I’ll climb out of this rut someday. It’s a big pothole but they make big ass trucks for a reason, eh? :) Thank you!

    Great post!
And yeah, Marilyn’s not the first one that would come to mind at that moment, but I’ve always believed that you can come across the greatest wisdom in the strangest places. :)
Hope things feel up sooner or later for you (but the sentiment here should remain true even then) and you find your zen again.
    Cheers!

Much! But (there’s always a but) I could use a vacation. I can’t wait until the end of the month. I get my UT out and I can chillax. I have a high tolerance for pain so hopefully I won’t be too uncomfortable and I can sit back and enjoy my mini-break. Ha ha! :)

Here – take my virtual tank and blow the futher-muckers to a bloody mist!
Well – or something as satisfying yet perhaps less violent.
My best friend told me when I was 15: “If people don’t want to be your friend then let them deprive themselves.”
It’s been my gospel ever since, supplanted by the brilliant (yet finally) indefagitable Oscar Wilde:
